Cloud Architecture – eLabJournal

eLABJournal Cloud Infrastructure

The eLABJournal Cloud provides services to customers around the globe. The technical infrastructure of eLABJournal comprises a multi-server architecture that is built-to-scale and ensure high performance. eLABJournal is hosted from multiple data centers, in so-called High Availability (HA) installations to ensure an uptime of at least 99,99%. The eLABJournal HA installation is a fully redundant system in which data is replicated in real-time to both systems and traffic is automatically routed by a load balancer. In case of an event in one of the data centers that results in downtime of one of the servers (e.g. power failure, fire, natural disasters etc.), system uptime is unaffected as the impaired server, or complete datacenter, is automatically taken out of the cluster. Servers are not directly connected to the internet and all incoming traffic is routed via a load balancer and firewall to ensure maximum security.

Hosting locations

Depending on your country of residence, your account is hosted from servers within either European or North America sites. Data from European Union citizens are exclusively stored on European based servers located in The Netherlands and Ireland, whereas US customers benefit from our services that are delivered from our datacenters located in Ohio and North Virginia. Data from both sites are strictly separated to comply with local regulations without affecting other regions. In case you want to store data in a country of your preference, you may always choose to migrate data to a dedicated system installation, such as Private Cloud or On-Premises Installation.
