eLABWebedit - no more compromises

Web-based electronic lab notebooks offer unrivalled flexibility to link research data of any format. However, editing linked data files in the ELN can be tedious. This is, in part, due to the security measures employed by most browsers, also known as the “sandbox”. The sandbox isolates the browser so that even if you happen to stumble upon a website with malware, it cannot infect your computer. But it also means that your browser cannot directly interface with the programs installed on your computer that is used to analyze or edit data.

eLABWebedit is a program that works together with eLABJournal to provide a legitimate way out of the browser sandbox. It provides a seamless interface for editing your files without the cumbersome process of manually downloading, renaming, and uploading them back in the ELN. Instead, you can just edit the file in the ELN. eLABWebedit automatically downloads the file to your computer and opens the program associated with it. When you are finished, you can save the file, and eLABWebedit will upload it back to the experiment in the ELN the file is associated to. In eLABJournal, the file will be stored as a new file version thereby maintaining data integrity according to GLP compliance. You can focus on your work instead of making sure you have the right version of the file saved.
