Intuitive User Interface

eLabJournal is designed by scientists for scientists; we know what you need in the lab and optimize our software on those focal points. The intuitive user interface enables you to find your way through the system easily. No need to spend a lot of time trying to understand complex software; you can set up your account and start tracking your results immediately. eLabJournal boosts your lab.

Sample & Inventory Barcoding

Our software automatically generates 2D barcodes for all samples, devices and inventory registered. With a DYMO labelwriter you can print these barcodes and with our use the eLabJournal mobile app you can view relevant information and update it where necessary.

Office Web Apps

Use Microsoft Office Excel directly in eLabJournal via the supported Microsoft Web Apps integration. This means you do not require Excel installed on your computer, tablet, or mobile phone. If you would like to use this add-on feature, please contact us to upgrade your account.

Experiment Templates

Easily set up and apply workflows for lab routines using experiment templates. You can make both individual and group-level templates to easily assign lab technicians to execute defined experiments and collect data.

Protocols & SOPs

For standard lab experiment processes you can set up protocols or Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Use protocols as a template for your experiments and easily adjust the protocol according to your experiment setting using dynamic fields. Versions of protocol changes are saved automatically, and for each executed experiment eLabJournal automatically registers which version is used.

Protocol Management

Set up protocols and use them as templates to perform experiments efficiently and improve the reproducibility. Track which version of a protocol was used for each experiment. Changes made to an active Standard Operating Procedure are added as a draft and will automatically replace the active protocol when changes are finalized.

Sign & Witness

GLP compliancy requires a sign-and-witness feature. This feature simply means that after a lab worker has followed an experiment workflow and signed it, a co-worker is assigned to double-check the report and complete it with a witness signature. This ensures your data authenticity and intellectual property protection by preventing further changes to the data. We offer this feature at both department and institute level.

Link your Data and Files

Upload and link any type of file to eLabJournal and link it to your experiment. Images of data can be also directly added to the experiment section via the Mobile App. Download eLabSync to automatically synchronize your data files to eLabJournal from your local PC.

Apps & Add-ons

eLabJournal has various add-ons to provide seamless integration and add great value to your eLab account. Check out all of our apps and add-ons here .

Automatic and Real-time Data Back-ups

To keep your data safe, we host our products in three data centers in different geographic locations that replicate and load-balance data in real time. In the event of an emergency at one of our data centers, we can continue to provide services. In addition, we run daily, encrypted, off-site backups, enabling us to recover any lost data at all times.

LDAP / AD authentication

Through LDAP / AD authentication, eLabJournal supports single sign-on (SSO) logins for department- or institute-wide implementations. Please contact us for more information.

Two-step Verification

Two-step verification is an optional security feature that adds an extra layer of protection to your eLabJournal account. Once enabled, eLabJournal will require a six-digit security code in addition to your password whenever you sign in to eLabJournal. Use the eLabJournal Mobile App to generate the security code. As a group administrator you can enforce two-step verification for all members in the lab.

User Roles and Permissions

Set up user roles and assign permissions per role. Rules and permissions can be set up for every role in the lab, such as group leaders, senior scientists, PhD students, lab managers, technicians, and guests. This allows you to control users’ system abilities to perform, view, add, update, and delete actions.

Excellent Support

All of our account managers have a backgrounds in life science research. We understand the language of the lab and are happy to offer a solutions to any problems you may face.
