Finalizing Protocol Versions
When making changes to a protocol or SOP, a draft is created. While making changes in the draft version, the latest active version (i.e. the version of which the draft was created) remains active and available for the lab to use in experiments. In this way, the changes in the protocol do not directly affect the daily lab workflow. Once a protocol version has been updated an validated, the procedure must be finalized to make it available for the entire lab. Note that when finalizing the protocol, the new version automatically replaces the previous version. This version is added to the version history.
