eLabJournal offers the option to set up Project groups. Project Groups are a way to group projects and share data in those projects with people from both inside and outside the lab to those projects. You can use project groups to achieve the following configuration:
- Grouping of Projects – Each project Group will create an extra level in the experiment browser next to the top “lab” level. In this way, you can create a Project Group for each PI in case multiple PI’s are working in the same lab on shared projects but also have own projects.
- Experiment collaboration – When a project is organized in a project group, you can also set the collaboration setting of a project to automatically add all users in the project group as a collaborator to experiments in that project.
- Set-up an external collaboration – To a project group you can also add users from other labs to collaborate on a project. In this way, data is shared with people in different groups. (note that the person in the other lab requires an own eLabJournal group)
Navigate to Project Groups in the Configuration menu to add a project group and manage the users added to the project group. Please note that you need the required permissions to view or create project groups .
